スリランカ人と私 A Sri lankan and I

　 もう随分前の事になったが、仕事先（工事現場）にたまたまスリランカ人がいた。寂しそうに一人でカレーを食べていたので、”Can you speak English" と話しかけたところ、"Yes,Yes."と答えてきた。誰も言葉がわからないらしかった。
　私は散々彼の母国の話を聞かされる羽目になった。スリランカ内戦はそのとき初めて知った。
タミルの虎は降伏した。　タミルの虎の首領の両親が健在だと言うニュースに驚いた。


More than ten years ago, when I went to one construction site by my work(of course in japan), I met Sri lankan there.
He was eating curry alone. So I talk to him "Can you speak English" . He replied "Yes,Yes". Nobody could understand his English.
I had to listen to much of his speaking about his land. I had never known Sri lankan war untill then.
Now Tamil Tiger surrender. The chief of Tamil Tiger has parents and they are in well. I am surprised by the news.
